How to change the name of your Kindle Fire
When you register your Kindle Fire, Amazon gives it a generic name such as Joe’s Kindle. You can change the device’s name to anything you want. If you want to keep the cool looking orange lettering for the word “Kindle” you will need to make sure that the last part of your device’s name ends with Kindle.
First, you will need to go to Amazon’s site, so get on your computer and:
Step 1 – Open your browser and go to Amazon.com.
Step 2 – On the left side of the page, go to the Shop All Departments menu, mouseover Kindle and select Manage Your Kindle.

Step 3 – Login to your Amazon account.
Step 4 – On the left side of the page, go to Your Kindle Account and select Manage Your Devices.

Step 5 – Find your device and click Edit which appears next to the device name.

Step 6 – Input the desired name for your device and click the Update button.

Now go to your Kindle Fire and perform a Sync:
Step 1 – Go to the device’s home screen.
Step 2 – Go to the menu at the top of the screen and select the Settings icon. Select Sync, you will see the Sync icon spin.

When the Kindle Fire has completed syncing, the new name will be appear.
