Customize your Tumblr Page by using HTML formatting

Guest Post by Brittany Rogers

It’s no secret that the site Tumblr is becoming increasingly popular amongst today’s teens. This particular site allows them to express themselves with their interests and opinions. The issue is teens wish to express themselves with their personal Tumblr page, and the selection of themes is rather dull and boring to some. However, if you have any HTML knowledge, then a custom Tumblr page will be easier to accomplish.

Step 1 - Log into your Tumblr, and go to the blog you wish to edit.

Step 2 - Click the Customize Theme button on the right hand side of the screen.

Step 3 - Change your theme to the Redux theme (click the Themes arrow and it should be listed as the first theme once you scroll to the top under the Free Themes menu. Remember to click Use in order to get back to the theme editing screen).

Step 4 - Under a picture of your current theme on the left-hand side, click the Edit HTML button.

Step 5 - To avoid doing something and not being able to undo it, copy all of the already existing HTML coding in the box, and paste it into a notepad document.

Step 6 - Type in the HTML coding you wish to use, keeping it above the and tags.

Step 7 - When you finish your coding, click Update Preview to view how your Tumblr page will now look.

Step 8 - Click the Appearance arrow, click the Save button, and then close.
