Using New Keyboard Shortcuts to Tame Gmail’s New Compose Window
Like others, I am still trying to get used to Gmail’s new Compose window. Having it dock in the lower-right corner of my Inbox just isn’t what I want. There are some ways around it for all browsers, but Google has included some new keyboard shortcuts to help deal with the change. You need to make sure that you have keyboard shortcuts enabled.
Shift + C or Holding down Shift while clicking the Compose button – open a compose window in a new window
d - opens a compose window in a new tab
, – moves the cursor to the first button in your Gmail toolbar
{ – archives the current conversation and moves to the older one
} – archives the current conversation and moves to the next one.
Google Chrome: How to Create a Shortcut to a Specific User Profile
Google Chrome’s User Profiles are a great addition to an already awesome web browser. My only complaint was that when you initially open Chrome, it opens to the last profile that was used. With the latest update (to 17.0.963.46) you can now use command line switches in your shortcut to launch the browser using a specific profile.
